Three teenagers have been arrested following an hour long “managed containment”, operation which ended on the M1 motorway.

A car with three occupants failed to stop for gardaí in the Whitehall area of Dublin shortly after 4.30am.

Gardaí said that a “lengthy managed containment operation” took place before the car was intercepted in Co Louth around an hour later.

Three male teenagers were arrested and brought to a garda station in Dublin.

Traffic on the M1 was affected early this morning but has since fully reopened to traffic.

Motorists had reported long delays on the southbound carriageway of the M1.

Gardaí said there were no injuries reported, and investigations are ongoing.
