Grim Discovery at Ballincollig Residence as 32-Year-Old Woman Found Dead in Suspicious Circumstances

Gardaí have launched an investigation after the body of a woman in her early 30s was discovered in unexplained circumstances at a residence in Ballincollig, Co Cork.Emergency services attended the scene this evening, following the discovery of the 32-year-old woman’s body at a house on Innismore Park around 5.30p.m. No other individuals were present in the property at the time.

The death is being treated as suspicious.The woman’s remains are set to be transferred to the morgue at University College Cork tonight, with a post-mortem examination scheduled for tomorrow.

Authorities have stated that the findings from the post-mortem will help guide the direction of the ongoing investigation.
The area has been cordoned off and will undergo a thorough forensic and technical examination of the Scenes by the Crime unit from Cork City.

The coroner has been informed, and inquiries remain active.A dedicated Family Liaison Officer has been appointed to provide support to the deceased’s family.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward. In particular, they are requesting anyone who was in the Innishmore area of Ballincollig between 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, and 5 :30 p.m. today, and who may have relevant camera footage, such as from home security systems or dash-cams, to contact investigators.
