THREE Gardai have been taken off duty for alleged misconduct this year.

One is over allegations of sexual assault/misconduct while another is said to relate to alleged domestic violence/coercive control.

The report said seven members had their suspensions lifted and one retired.

Officers reassigned to duty included four from Limerick who were found not guilty on 39 charges in a Limerick traffic ticket scandal trial.

The number of Gardai under investigation for driving under the influence of an intoxicant reduced by one, from 18 to 17.

There are, however, still 17 members being probed over sexual assault/sexual misconduct and ten for allegations of domestic violence/coercive control.
