Man rushed to hospital after late-night stabbing incident in Dublin city centre

The victim was slashed a number of times during the assault

The incident occurred at Countess Markievicz House on Townsend Street shortly before midnight on Friday (March 12).

TA garda spokesman said: “Gardaí and emergency services were alerted shortly after 11:40pm on Friday 13th March 2026 after a male in his 40s was seriously assaulted in the course of an incident at Countess Markievicz House, Dublin 2.

“The male was conveyed to St James’ Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life threatening at this time. The scene was preserved for a technical examination and investigations are ongoing.”
