The town of Tuam has two Cathedrals, one Catholic, one Church of Ireland (previously Catholic, pre-reformation). The reason dates back to the time that Tuam was the seat of the High Kings of Connacht. I sometimes go to the ‘Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary’ there for Sunday Mass. One of the notable features of the cathedral are its quite impressive and large stained glass windows. Built between 1827 & 1837, it was an impressive achievement for a region where Catholicism had been persecuted within living memory and in 1827 the anti-Catholic penal laws were still ‘the law of the land’.

Post Declan Ganley @declanganley

Tomorrow, the state is putting me on trial, again, this time using “terrorism” legislation. And again, I will not be judged by a jury of my peers, I’ll be judged solely by a judge, and we know how this usually works. So, as always, I expect to go to prison on these trumped-up charges. If you can make it to my trial, which will take place at WESTMINSTER Magistrates, Monday(13th Oct) and Tuesday(14th Oct), I will wholeheartedly appreciate it. We will be running a LIVE right here on 𝕏 for viewers across the world. If they can do this to me, they can do this to you.
