Dr Jessen has asked supporters to donate to his GoFundMe page, after being ordered to pay Mrs Foster £125,000 in libel costs.
Of the £150,000 he is hoping to make back through his fundraiser, the TV presenter has raised just over £6,000 so far.© Provided by Extra.ie TV doctor Christian Jessen has launched a fundraiser for himself after losing a libel court case against Northern Ireland First Minister Arlene Foster. Pleading with members of the public to donate to him, the TV doctor said that the legal battle he faced was a ‘most unfair situation’.
Dr Jessen cited his own mental health and personal problems, explaining in the GoFundMe description that the last year or so ‘has been very difficult for me.’
He also shared on the ‘Support Dr Christian’ page that he is ‘considering an appeal’ against the ruling.© Provided by Extra.ie Dr Jessen has asked supporters to donate to his GoFundMe page, after being ordered to pay Mrs Foster £125,000 in libel costs. Pic: Niall Carson/PA Wire

Last week, a judge ruled that the accusations made against Arlene Foster in the celebrity medic’s tweet were ‘grossly defamatory’.
Judge McAlinden said that the ‘outrageously bad libel cut her to the core, causing her considerable upset, distress, humiliation, embarrassment and hurt.’© Provided by Extra.ie In December 2019, Dr Christian Jessen posted a tweet involving a false allegation about an affair involving Arlene Foster. It is unclear if Dr Christian Jessen will reach his £150,000 goal, having raised just over 4% of that within a week of his fundraiser going public.
However, the Embarrassing Bodies presenter promised potential donors that funds raised surplus to his goal will be ‘donated to relevant charities.’
