Make no mistake about it: the Government is trying to pull a fast one. It is effectively gaslighting the public.

It is trying to pull the wool over your eyes, kick you in the shins and tell you someone else did it. I can assure you that is not rain that has soaked your shoes.

David Blaine would stand back in awe at the sleight-of-hand trick the Government pulled when faced with the dilemma posed by Tánaiste Leo Varadkar’s attendance at a party in the Merrion Hotel’s Garden Terrace organised by former minister Katherine Zappone.
