I’ve read some dumb offensive shit in the Irish Times in my time but perhaps none quite so bad as Justine McCarthy’s ridiculous implication today that women should prefer the Taliban to Trump’s America. A good editor would have told her to take that out for her own sake.

Ironically it was a Democrat – outgoing President Joe Biden – who condemned Afghan women to the Hell of the Taliban regime.
