A security company accused of the “systematic exploitation” of migrant workers before its collapse last year has been likened to a “modern slavery” operation by trade union SIPTU. What about Irish Workers???

The former management of BGS Security Ltd, which is now in liquidation, was challenged to “turn up and rebut” a complaint of racial discrimination in breach of the Employment Equality Act 1998 representatives of a former security guard, James Ajibola. https://courtsnewsireland.ie/security-firms-systematic-exploitation-of-migrant-workers-likened-to-modern-slavery/2026/02/06/

  1. It’s shameful. Irish employers are basically subsidised by their own workers who are receiving social welfare to compensate for low wages. This suits many people just fine (the workers and the employers) but the poor divils who have no kids have to work full-time with below subsistence wages, and are tecnically homeless (living with parents in middle-age / couch-surfing with friends) or forced to share accommodation with strangers.
