The court heard: “It’s harder to get a Vodafone contract than an Irish passport.”

Sabouni Abdelhamid (32), who never lived in Ireland, claimed to be the son of Catherine Corridan, originally from Caherdaniel, Co. Kerry, murdered in London in 1994, aged 31.

The Algerian was arrested at Dublin Airport in 2025 using the fake passport he successfully obtained online from the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs [DFA].
