Justice for Sophie – Justice for Ian Bailey

We the undersigned request that you reopen a full, thorough & unbiased investigation of the murder of Sophie Tuscan Du Plantier. The investigation was handled in the most unprofessional, inappropriate & appalling way. Many avenues were not explored. Statements were obtained under very questionable circumstances.  Witnesses have purposefully falsified & withheld information. Evidence has gone missing. A man was convicted in France in absentia in the most part based on a myriad of unsubstantiated circumstantial evidence gained from a flawed investigation in Ireland. The facts are that there is no substantial evidence linking Ian Bailey to the murder only gossip and speculation much of which was based on personal opinions of the locals who demonised him for being different, behaviour that was not neurotypical. This would be considered hate crime by today’s standards. Times have changed & forensics have much improved therefore a fresh investigation may yield more fruitful if entered with an open mind & advanced scientific resources. The story of this case is circulating to 198 countries with the new documentary & is an international embarrassment that the State needs to exonerate itself from. Ian Bailey who has protested his innocence for over 20 years is owed a chance to clear his name and the family of Sophie true justice

This is a must read Article on the Ian Bailey Case; Vincent Browne did his Research back in 2005 (Magill). What a pity Ireland’s recently appointed to the Sindo Journalist Sinead Who? failed dismally to write a balanced appraisal of the interview she had with Ian Bailey. The Sunday Sindo are allowing their Walter Mitty Writers to Expose their “Sources”, then Mock them on Twitter, and Social Media. Shame on them. The new owners of the Independent need to investigate how much value the media, especially, the press, place on their “Sources” in Ireland.
