They paid no reparations for their plunder; the least they can do is accept refugees. Reciprocity among Empires must apply. “Rwanda as an English version of what Ellis Island was a century ago” is an insult to people who seek refuge in the UK; at least process their applications when they seek sanctuary in the UK and if they don’t match criteria, then consideration is required. Ukraine is in its 50th day of invasion by that once known Russian Empire…we need to learn from experience and stop this war before it moves from decade to decade of mass destruction and mass disturbance through population moving from Ukraine in the hope that host countries will treat them with respect.
